Lime fertilizers for good soil pH
Ever more stringent usage standards within current fertilization policy are reducing the quantities of nitrogen and phosphate used for fertilization. However, the needs of crops have not changed. It is therefore important to ensure that the soil of our valuable arable land is in good condition and capable of optimising nitrogen and phosphate use. By their nature, many types of soil present in the Netherlands have a pH that is too low, which has a negative impact on the utilisation of nitrogen and phosphate and prevents the soil from delivering optimum yields. If a soil has a pH of just 4.0 instead of the target value of 5.4, for example, maize yields can easily drop by as much as 10% to 20%. This can be prevented through the addition of lime! Triferto offers high-quality lime fertilizers that make it easy for you to optimise the condition of your soil.
Gypsum fertilizers for good soil structure
Ferto-Gypsum is a wet product and contains calcium in sulphate form (CaSO4). Gypsum, or calcium sulphate, has a positive impact on soil structure, particularly in the case of clay soils with high pH. A good soil structure is important for a grower. Water regulation, rooting, disease resistance and good traffic resistance are essential if you want to achieve strong and healthy crops and avoid any restrictions when it comes to working the land and harvesting. To obtain a good soil structure, it is important that sufficient calcium is present. Calcium keeps the clay particles a good distance apart, ensuring an airy, loose structure. It also ensures excellent binding between clay particles. Calcium is important on sandy soils too, as it fixates organic substances.
