In April, a new WPP line was commissioned at Triferto’s location in Ghent, Belgium. This investment supports the continued growth of export activities and strengthens control over the bagging process.
Bringing this process in-house increases flexibility in packaging and ensures consistent output. The line handles WPP and WPP/PE bags from 25 to 50 kg, with a capacity of up to 45 tonnes per hour.
Efficient container loading
The new line improves efficiency in container logistics. Using WPP/PE bags, up to 27.5 tonnes of mineral fertilizer can be loaded into a 20 ft container without pallets. This increases payload per container and reduces logistics costs.
This method fits well with overseas markets, where containers are typically unloaded manually. Pallet-free loading simplifies handling at destination.
Reliable packaging under demanding conditions
WPP/PE bags combine strength and protection. The woven polypropylene outer layer is resistant to tearing and suitable for intensive handling. The polyethylene inner liner forms a barrier against moisture, humidity and UV radiation.
This keeps mineral fertilizers dry and maintains product quality during storage and transport.
