Triferto reduces CO2 footprint

09-08-2023

Triferto's commitment to reducing its CO2 footprint is evident in the progress made since 2022.

We have been focused on effectively addressing scope 1 & 2 emissions throughout our organization. These emissions include electricity and gas usage, as well as fuel consumption for our machines, forklift trucks, and other equipment, along with air travel, water usage, and paper consumption.

Notably, our efforts have yielded a remarkable 5.8% reduction in our footprint compared to 2019. This achievement becomes even more impressive when considering the larger volume of our operations in 2022, resulting in a reduction per ton of product of over 20%. Achieving this significant decline in CO2 emissions was made possible by implementing measures such as optimizing gas and electricity consumption and employing more efficient heating and packaging practices.

Looking forward, we have formulated a comprehensive reduction plan for the upcoming years. This plan focuses on making our installations, offices, vehicles, and rolling stock more sustainable, thereby decreasing energy consumption, and further minimizing our environmental impact.

In line with our commitment to sustainability, Triferto is actively collaborating with customers and suppliers to reduce the carbon footprint in the entire supply chain. An outstanding example of this is our initiative to deliver a full load of KAS in 2023, boasting a 50% lower CO2 footprint due to the use of biogas.

Our dedication to sustainability is not only aimed at benefiting the present but also ensuring a more sustainable agricultural sector for generations to come. Embracing our 'From soil to life' vision, we play a proactive role in fostering a greener agricultural industry for a better future.
