Selenium in grass increases with Seferto

Selenium in grass increases with Seferto
Cattle farmers can easily steer selenium provision for cattle through fertilisation. This was shown in research carried out in 2006 with the Seferto fertiliser. It is important that the selenium dose is spread over multiple depths for a constant provision.

Research
The effect of different selenium doses using Seferto was analysed in research carried out by the University of Bonn. The results have shown that the level in grass rises significantly with Seferto. This means that the cattle will absorb more selenium. This is mainly favourable for yearlings and dry cows. They are often given little or no high-energy feed, which means that the provision of selenium remains below par.

Selenium need
Selenium is an important micro-element for resistance and fertility of cattle and ruminants in general. Most high-energy feeds contain this element. Annually, 12 grams of selenium per ha is required on average. Triferto recommends that the dose be spread over multiple depths for a constant supply through grass. Triferto has developed the Seferto fertiliser line to ensure that the minimum quantities are dosed effectively. Aside from selenium, the cattle farmer will also be scattering all other nutrients to size in one go with Seferto fertilisers.
