PotatoEurope 2009 Humifirst results

Proeftuin Zwaagdijk (Agricultural Research Centre) started a fertilisation trial at the instructions of Triferto involving the Innovator variety. The control field received the standard fertilisation. 50 l/ha Humifirst was administered in addition to standard fertiliser at the Humifirst trial field.

The potatoes were lifted on 1 September. Aside from a higher yield, the field that received Humifirst produced significantly larger tubers. Better sorting is being rewarded by a premium that can be as high as €4/metric ton for the full delivery at different purchasers.
