Magnesium fertiliser

Magnesium is a necessary building element for the production of chlorophyll. A magnesium deficiency results in a failure of chlorophyll formation and causes a pale green colour in crops. The agricultural crops summer barley, corn and potatoes are susceptible to magnesium deficiency. They show clear signs of deficiency resulting in a decreased yield. An insufficient supply of magnesium can result in grass tetany in cows due to an insufficient amount of magnesium in the roughage. This illness usually only occurs at the start of the grazing period and in the autumn in meadows with young grass rich in proteins.
